Re: 2023 Processors and VR Flight Sims
Merlin do you think the most recent (and soon to be released) AMD CPUs are better options compared to the i5-13600K for Il2 specifically? I am thinking about a new rig myself now and the (overclocked with water cooling) i5-13600K looks like a very good candidate, coupled with 16G DDR5 and a 4080 vi...

Re: SRS
Thanks, Silk - that was, indeed, the problem. I forgot I edited my startup.cfg to change some things related to VR and the telemtrydevice section had disappeared. I tested SRS just now and everything worked flawless on Combat Box, so I assume it will all be a blast this Sunday :) Thank you, all, for...

Re: SRS
My SRS hasn't been working lately and I have no idea why - all my configuration appears to be correct (as instructed by Silk) but nothing happens when I log in the game and enter the server. If I manually connect to Silk's server, it does connect successfully and I can see there are N people on the ...

Re: 2023 Processors and VR Flight Sims
You nailed the issue - there is no such thing as "futureproofing". Still, I'd bet that with the upgrade you have in mind, you won't have performance problems in the next 6.5 years. 32GB of RAM is plenty, IMHO. I doubt you'd use half of that while gaming. And it doesn't look like you'll be doing anyt...

Re: Pico 4 VR
This is getting a bit technical but I'll be very happy to hear how you guys think that "VR over WiFi" works. All the traffic that usually flows through a DP cable now goes over WiFi. What kind of bandwidth is that?
Or is it that the PC video card is not used for rendering?

Re: Pico 4 VR
We are not even talking about the actual game and game servers on the internet here - we are talking about the enormous traffic that would be flowing from your video card to your VR headset over Wifi as opposed to the thick tethered devices DisplayPort cable. I am confused how it would be possible t...

Re: Pico 4 VR
The Pico VR headsets are standalone - all of the hardware and software needed to run anything in VR is inside the actual device. You cannot connect it to a PC. In that sense, you won't be able to use it with IL2.
Nice gadget otherwise.
