Re: Flight controls - re convo on WhatsApp

@Silk, damn, that's very unfortunate. @Gosho, Definitely will do, I just remembered we have it in the bottom of some of our kitchen drawers, must have a look whether there are any leftovers. If not, IKEA visit with obligatory meatballs dinner stop it is. On the taxiing note - some guides suggest swi...

Re: Flight controls - re convo on WhatsApp

I would not expect myself to write a purchase update so early, but on Tuesday I got extremely lucky. There was a guy on a DCS facebook group who was advertising an used TrackIR with Track Clip Pro for about one quarter of the original price when these were sold by retails back in early 2010's (about...

Re: Flight controls - re convo on WhatsApp

Nice build, Silk. As I mentioned, I am considering the whole TFRP kit to buy when my trustworthy Hotas X says goodbye. But damn, the Gladiator looks fancy!

I read few reviews where people were a bit skeptical regarding the ruggedness and toughness of the Thrustmaster pedals. What is your experience?

Re: Feldwebel Fritz leaves Kalach

I’m not up to scratch on your background, did you fly F/A 18’s for real or in another virtual squadron? Oh no... I've never flown a real F/A-18. It was with Jane's F/A-18E years ago with a Virtual Navy I was a member of. We had a collection of 4 squadrons (2 of Janes F18, 2 of Falcon 4.0) and did a...

Re: Hardware update

I'd take the i5 and less RAM - I do not know what else you use the rig for and what the demands are but for IL2 8GB is more than enough. At the moment I am utilizing 12GB RAM (3x8 GB) which seem to work just fine so your option sounds actually good. I'll try to find some optimal motherboard and i5 ...

Re: Hardware update

Is the PSU on the low side I'd say if the CPU will have 95W TDP (not that 1XX one), it should be still enough. As I upgraded from the 560ti, loads of power is now unused, because the 1060 has about thrice the lower TDP as the 560. Theoretically, the PSU would now handle even the hungrier CPU, but I...

Re: Hardware update

True that. I did not think this that much through but it will all depend on the end of the month results on my bank account. So just to imagine the levels: - CPU between 80 and 170 pounds. Generally I should be able to reach to low-tier Ryzens or some i5 equivalent , however that would require repla...

Hardware update

Hey chaps, With my birthday (and Christmas too, after all) growing near, I realized there will be a few Korunas to spend on some hardware goodies this Autumn so I'm coming here for a word of advice. My current rig is doing well, however especially in rowdy missions in BoX or DCS or even in some dens...

Re: FW-190 A-8

Nice work Andy, interesting scheme and I love those late war colours. It would be nice to see it photographed on a plain white or black background so the colours and details really stand out! Thanks Charlie, will try to make some plain shots over the weekend. Photos on a plain background added to t...

Re: FW-190 A-8

Well done. How do you find the time? Very hardly :D since I am working and studying now, I usually finish about one model each year, give or take. However, this one was laying around for about three or Four years around as I kept setting it away due to aforementioned difficultues with building and/...

Re: CPY-z help

The CPU-Z is quite a straightforward utility once you get oriented in the numbers. I'll be happy to help you Jacko, but as Tom suggests, try monitoring the taskmanager (both processes and performances tabs) first. Good chances are there is some program running in the background that might be drainin...
