Re: To Check Six!! It works!! Step-by-step to replace SteamVR and VRNecksafer with OpenVR and XRNS
Would this work for Quest 3...? Don't know, but after one session where this worked for me, it encountered an error that pervented me from starting IL2, so I'm back to SteamVR and no way to look behind since the original VRNecksafer quit working for me a couple years ago. You should try, though bec...

Re: Hey, Folks
@Mouse, I'd like to try DCS again. Last time my rudder pedals wouldn't accept braking commands so taxiing and landing were *interesting*. If you want to get the F-18, you could fly from land to see if you like it before paying for a carrier pack.

Re: Landing SOP
I was thinking of Sunday and the 601 near miss of my stationary Spit. They missed hitting you because they were aiming for you. It like in The Legend of Bagger Vance. Bagger walks out of the dark and Junah had been hitting drives. Junah says, "I could'a killed you." Bagger replies, "No, Sir. Cause ...

Re: Landing SOP
@Fritz @Tom, you're both right. I just default back to real life, but this would be impractical for TP Ops. After all, what cluster-f would occur if someone from 601 managed the tower?

Re: Landing SOP
...there is not going to be a tower service from what I read. It's much more like an uncontrolled airfield with RADIO service like Gramps mentioned. That'll work. Someone suggested having the first person to drop out/be shot down/ditch/RTB to spawn in a new aircraft and just sit on the airfield and...

Re: Landing SOP
wilco. Great idea. I'd suggest flight leaders or singletons (or squadron leader if all in one gaggle) contact the tower at ten miles out, but no closer than five miles out, so tower can stack and sequence as appropriate to prioritize emergencies, damaged aircraft, min/emergency fuel state, and the r...

To Check Six!! It [doesn't] works!! Step-by-step to replace SteamVR and VRNecksafer with OpenVR and XRNS [see note. it
Note: after one session where this worked for me, it encountered an error that pervented me from starting IL2, so I'm back to SteamVR and no way to look behind since the original VRNecksafer quit working for me a couple years ago. An IL2 forum member, "Patricks" helped me install OpenXR and XRNS, t...

Re: Introduction and hello...
I too am in the St. Charles area in MO. My favorite ...the Mooney M20.... Howdy, neighbor. I'm just north of Hermann, MO, and my email is redacted . I can fly my Mooney over to St. Charles once I get a battery issue sorted out. It has a G1000 glass cockpit whereas the MSFS versions are steam gauges...

Re: Introduction and hello...
Welcome, sir. I and a couple others are from the US (I'm in rural Missouri). TP guys are great. During weekly operations we keep comms to a minimum but during pre-mission practice and Tuesday/Friday 'come if you wish' fly days we chatter informally. I tried a couple other online squadrons, but they ...

Re: Thank You
Welcome. Under general settings I set my IL2 volume at 2%. Otherwise it drowns out radio calls on Teamspeak and (in missions) on SRS. Good luck.

You did well. My first taxiing in the 109 on OTU was a proper ballet/ice skating spinny, spinny.

Varjo Aero headset flaw - don't let this ruin your headset
The Varjo Aero headset, unlike almost all others, does not turn off if you set it aside and leave it. It goes to their interface screen and that gets burned into the screens like an afterimage and cannot be fixed. The headset costs around 2,000 quid, dollars or euros and is supposed to be the best h...
