Re: This weekend

I can completely understand the frustration Silk. I was playing DCS a few days ago and didn't realize that I had mapped a button to Discord for voice chat - every time I hit that button (which was the TDS disengage button, which you tend to hit frequently) the Discord overlay window would pop up and...

Re: Feldwebel Fritz leaves Kalach

I’m not up to scratch on your background, did you fly F/A 18’s for real or in another virtual squadron? Oh no... I've never flown a real F/A-18. It was with Jane's F/A-18E years ago with a Virtual Navy I was a member of. We had a collection of 4 squadrons (2 of Janes F18, 2 of Falcon 4.0) and did a...

Re: Feldwebel Fritz leaves Kalach

Yes, good points - and that's how they countered my rebuttals. Technically, I wasn't the mission lead; I was just flying lead in formation at the time. But yes. I fell asleep enroute to a target. :P

Re: Feldwebel Fritz leaves Kalach

... and we [you mean "I" don't you?] Welcome aboard "Sleepy" :Party Actually, that's the amusing part - my squadmates kept formation and didn't fly off to continue the mission. That was what I always retorted with when it was brought up later. :Wink Having said that tho, I think they stayed in form...

Re: Feldwebel Fritz leaves Kalach

Thanks all! Looking forward to getting into the Ops on Sundays - and a big thanks to Merlin for the OTU flights. I'll make sure to get all the skins installed tonight. - If you do anything exceptional make it a good one or they will never let you forget it. Heh - yes. Those exceptional things that f...

Re: Am I missing new pilots ?

Fritz here - just one more OTU flight to go. Thanks Bunny - looking forward to flying with all of you. Just an FYI... I didn't realize that my Steam ID and my IL2 BoX ID are actually different. Changing my Steam ID to Fritz did nothing, so you guys were seeing me as "casimir06" while in practice fli...

Re: Welcome Guests.

Hey Peter - I can attest to the fact that TP has no issues with signing up pilots from the U.S. as long as you can make the training flights and the Sunday ops (and after OTU, either the Tuesday fun flights or Friday night flights). In in the same boat - my schedule makes it easy for me to make Tues...

Re: Bf109 E-7 Horizontal Stabilizer trim

Thanks Gosho - I was doing that and it wasn't working... which was really frustrating me because I've gotten it to work on other controls. But I got it sorted out. The issue I was running into is that I was trying to make changes to my controls both in IL2 itself and in Joy2Key at the same time duri...

Re: Bf109 E-7 Horizontal Stabilizer trim

Okay - so after fighting this for more than an hour, I'm at something of a loss. The IL2 Forums (in a post regarding elevator trim) has several people suggesting that the 109 Adjustable Stabilizer Axis setting can be controlled by buttons if you map them as secondary controls. However, I have not ha...

Re: Bf109 E-7 Horizontal Stabilizer trim

And of course, immediately after post this, I finally found it.

Adjustable Stabilizer Axis

Unfortunately, I don't have an axis I can map to it (why can't they have some of these with a control for up / down??). I'll have to try to find a way to rig up something.

Bf109 E-7 Horizontal Stabilizer trim

In preparing for the Taifun campaign once I complete OTU, I refreshed my knowledge by watching the video linked in Gosho's II.Schlachtgruppe Flieger Noten post, specifically this video . Almost all of what's indicated in that video I generally follow, and have mapped the necessary buttons / axis to ...

Re: Oculus Visibility / Graphics settings

Am I the only one using OTT? I do use OTT - ASW set to off and typically running at 1.5. I don't use any of the other settings / configurations with it though. I have the default IL2 Zoom mapped already, but am not too keen on installing something to use the 3dmigoto mod zoom unless I have to :Help...

Re: Oculus Visibility / Graphics settings

I've added the mods both Silk and Blackjack suggested, and changed my graphics options in IL2 as well (lowering resolution, changing AA, etc.). It seems that I can see things easier now - it's still not easy, but it's a lot better than it was. I just need to find a way to map a joystick button to th...

Re: Oculus Visibility / Graphics settings

Thanks Jacko. I'm wondering too if what I'm seeing is pretty much what every other VR pilot sees - most threads about this focus more on upping frame rates rather than visibility, so it's kind of hard to get a benchmark of sorts to work from.

Re: Oculus Visibility / Graphics settings

For air targets then it can help to reduce your on-screen resolution some. Typically my on-screen resolution would be set to either 1024x768 or 800x600 in windowed mode or something like that. This reduced the display on the screen, but that's irrelevant as you're not using that to see stuff anyway...
