Re: New PC

As a point of comparison, I was running VR on my laptop: Intel i7-8760H 2.20 GHz 16 GB RAM GTX 1060 It ran without any problems. I think sometimes our colleagues over estimate what is necessary, which can be a good thing for the future. I'd shy away from any laptop video card, however good it seems...

Re: P-47D-28

@Mothyp, we have to expect operations from poor, short airfields. If we have long runways we'll be fine but I expect we'll not be so lucky.

Silk's fix worked like a charm. I haven't tried using the zoom since so I may have to reinstall it.

Thanks, Silk. :rof_salute

Re: Oberfeldwebel Badger returns from sick leave

Returning to the scene of the crime, Badger? Doesn't it violate your probation to hang out with the criminal element? It warms my heart to see old-school TP from before my time return to the roost. We should celebrate you as the best-dressed "repeat offender." Bunny has a pink Spitfire but no one eq...

Re: Aircraft Settings - for All Nationalities.

@Sparky I'm not 100% certain as I haven't tested anything but I think the additional boost might be just for the F-8 modification and you have to install it from the options list. I've always took the boost time to be the total time as it's the safer option and it makes for a good, safer, general r...

Re: Aircraft Settings - for All Nationalities.

Good stuff, Moggs. The speeds vary by weight so the 180km for takeoff is probably for a clean, low fuel weight a/c. The 220 is probably for full-fuel carrying bombs. Is the 10 minutes with boost and 1.58 ATA the time it's go-juice lasts? Since the normal limit at 1.42 ATA is three minutes, is boost ...

Well played, sir. Actually 601 knows where they are, on the runway in a jumbled heap after they cock up the takeoff.

Welcome aboard. :rof_salute

Britain asked for North American Aviation to make them P-40s. NAA said, "Hold my beer."

Of course Britain built good fighters too, like the Spitfire, beautiful, maneuverable, with a combat range of a chained dog.

Re: Welcome Guests.

When you land, always pull back on the stick when you're rolling down the runway and keep some throttle on, sort of drive it onto the runway rather than let it just fall onto the runway. Then slowly brake or just let it roll to the end of the strip. It is tricky but as everyone will tell you, I am ...
