Check out the AMD 5700xt instead.

No point as they’re waaaay over budget unless you can find one for around £160.

Re: Is this a decent graphics card?

Yes - the motherboard should take most modern graphics cards. If you can, get a 1060. If not a 1060 then a 1650. Also check your power supply unit and what the graphics card needs to make sure you can power it. eg. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-sc-3072mb-gddr5-pci-express-grap...

I guess this would beinadequate for a 2060?
Choose a 2060 then tell us your motherboard and PSU then we can figure it out.

@Hatter I’m waiting for the same question in December 2020.

VR hints and tips

1. Map the VR reset button in-game as it means that if you need to you can tweak your head position to get it just right. 2. Set the map opacity to quite low, then you can see through it whilst you're looking at it. Make sure you can make out the grid numbering easily though. 3. Drink bottled alcoho...

Re: Aircraft Settings - for All Nationalities.

P38 pilot notes: http://akvictoria.by/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/P-38-Lightning.pdf For flaps see pages 50-52 of the manual. There doesn't appear to be an indicator in-cockpit though there is a little red rod that extends on the left wing close to the trailing edge and just inside the engine. I can'...

Re: VR

Follow the instructions. Make sure you use the USB 3.0 sockets (assuming you have them) and away you go.

It probably was. You should have a desktop icon which is black with a white O on it.

Re: VR

Because that's what it works with. It is the same for all VR headsets - you need the proprietary software that goes with it. Annoying but it is what it is.

Re: VR

You probably need Oculus Home.

For IL2 to work you also need Steam VR.

Re: New VR Rig

Get a piece of wood to screw the pedals to. If use flat head bolts you don’t need to countersink them. I’ll send a pic to you.

Go with the desk and mounts setup but make sure you use something between the stand/clamp and the desk to protect the wood or whatever material you have.

Re: VR thoughts

£4,500 to go for great stuff if you’re buying everything you need from new. Obviously less if you have some stuff already like controls etc. Around £3,000 for it to be good. But, for it to be playable you could just buy the Oculus Rift S for £400 on its own, provided you can use it with the pc you h...

VR thoughts

VR is amazing. It is also expensive, not really because of the headset but because of all the other stuff you need to sort out to use it properly. There is a trade off though, so it can be less expensive if you are prepared to compromise. This is actually a difficult post to put up. I could rave abo...

Re: Wot VR

Try it and see. Also bear in mind that if you wear glasses when playing that it can be too awkward to wear a headset. My inclination is to go down the Rift S route as your first experience (the screen is good and it is not so expensive but you’ll need headphones too) and if you can’t get on with it ...
