Re: For those thinking of starting
Sorry about that, Andy. Was going off what someone else had said. You can just copy the input, kneeboard, Liveries folders from one folder to another under saved games (ie from saved games\DCS to saved games\DCS Open Beta) once you've run the program once to create the folder structure.

Re: For those thinking of starting
Depends on how much free disk space you have. If you have enough for a side-by-side install (even temporarily) you can just run the installer for the Open Beta client and it will copy much of the generic data from your Stable folder structure. The personalised stuff like controller assignments you c...

Re: For those thinking of starting
I've uninstalled the Stable version and am currently installing the Open Beta. Made sure to back up my settings (I think) first.

Re: For those thinking of starting
From what I understand from Fritz, the process is that the open beta gets frequent updates and every so often they update the 'Stable' version to the latest open beta version. At that point the two versions are in synch until the open beta gets a new update. Players using the open beta can only fly ...

For those thinking of starting
After talking with Fritz, it transpires that it is probably better to install the Open Beta version of the standalone game rather than the 'Stable' version. This is because bugs are often fixed more quickly on the Open Beta and some modules won't even work on the Stable version. I currently have the...

Re: Modules
No worries there, Sparky - I'm not all that far ahead of you.
Modules
I thought that it would be a good idea to let each other know what DCS modules we own so that we can arrange sessions together. Silk DCS Open World (Standalone) Su-25T TF-51D Caucasus Map Flaming Cliffs 3 F-15C (not yet installed) A-10A (not yet installed) Su-27 (not yet installed) Su-33 (not yet in...

Re: 2023 Processors and VR Flight Sims
Thanks for the input, Gramps. Mission hosting is on a separate device already in order to ensure that the hosting gets full access to that machine's resources, so this one would be for VR and games only. I'm not sure what sort of system requirements future games will need, but I'm looking at current...
