Re: Potential New Recruit
I am in Florida. SO the Tuesday/Friday flights are all at or around 4pm my time? As much as I was hoping this group would work, I have learned it just doesn't help cohesion when I can not make the training flights. Unless there is some chance of a work around or other option, I am worried this just...

Re: Potential New Recruit
Stats are very unimportant to me. You can do nothing with them. Enjoyment is what I value. I enjoy flying with a group of like minded people who also want to have fun. In Tangmere Pilots, stats mean a lot, but not in the way you'd expect. Once Bunny destroyed three Ju-57, all ours. First, while lan...

Re: DCS Training resources
Good library of training videos. Thanks.
Re: Modules
I own but haven't played:
Most maps.
Super carrier (I think)
F-14, 16, 18, 86, 5
FC3
P-51, Mirage 2000
Some campaigns.
I'd be starting from scratch.

Re: Para drops in WW2
... parameters for dropping paratroopers were six hundred feet of altitude at ninety miles per hour ...however, many troopers were dropped from 300 to 2,100 feet and at speeds as high as 150 miles per hour. As you guys know about Normandy, Gooney Bird pilots never dropped troopers as low or as slow...

Re: Looking for rudder pedals
I had two sets of MFG Crosswinds (one set for France, one for the US) and loved them until one pedal's toe brake ceased functioning. Ordered new wiring and carefully replaced it. No change. SO I went back to my cheap-ish, narrow-set Thrustmaster pedals and they work fine, or at least 1,000 times bet...

Re: great battles
So, the keybind you're after to move your view around should be "rotate camera up/down" and "rotate camera left/right" The external camera is called "external free camera at player plane" Hope this helps :rof_smile I'll try them again but I believe I tried setting those and nothing happening to my ...

Re: great battles
I’ll have a look later but from memory external view is one of the F keys - F3 or 4 I think, then the panning keys are just set up how you want them in the “Camera” settings. I'll look in my camera settings for the selections set to the F keys you and Mouse suggested. Finding those will *hopefully*...

Re: great battles
Berfore I reinstalled, I could shift my view outside the aircraft with one button and sweep the camera left-right and up-down with a four-way switch. No more, despite me trying all the key settings that seem possibly relevant. My VRnecksafer is spotty in working and with my neck, I need the camera c...

Re: Potential New Recruit
I take it Tuesday sessions still go ahead in the summer break and it's just Sunday ops that are on holiday? If I come along to a Tuesday before starting training, "to check my skill level" as suggested by Tom how do I arrange it? It's very informal in summer break but many of the 'usual suspects' t...

Re: Potential New Recruit
To cure the Spit groundloop on landing roll I recommend touching down with no power but then adding a bit of power that carries you through a rollout to stop. Unless I add that bit of throttle back in, after touchdown I tend to groundloop

Do some of you fly with wifi? I had to get a wired connection before I could use IL2 reliably.
