Hi Nummy,
If that's the goal then this will likely be a good option.
One thought - that motherboard will support a SATA M2 drive - if you were to get a 500GB M2 and fit that instead of the 6TB Barracuda it would make all the cabling a lot simpler and still be more than adequate for IL2

Re: Advice Please: Nummy Hunkered In, Getting Ready to Blow Cash on good Sim Computer
Sorry, Nummy. I'm not up to date with which AMD graphics cards are good or not for the game. Likewise I don't usually look at Ryzen for a gaming PC. Much of that is probably age-old bias, and I did use a Ryzen 7 in the Ops Server I just built. The base clock on the Ryzen chip is 3.2GHz, which is ok,...

I don't recommend playing IL2 over wireless - I would always recommend using a cable to connect the PC to your router.

Re: VR hints and tips
The only thing to set up is the two zoom functions. By default these are configured to be on the 'Insert' (1.5x zoom) and 'Home' (5x zoom) keys, so the first set is to make sure that those are not configured to any other aircraft functions. There is also a 10x zoom function mapped to 'Page Up', but ...

Re: New VR Rig
Some time ago I purchased an original series VKB Gladiator Pro. I really love that stick, despite the fact that one of the buttons has been a little problematic. In my view, it is ideal for VT use because as well as the buttons on the stick, it has a number of buttons on the base itself and many of ...

Re: Wot VR
Indeed. My only advice would be that with a 1060 card you may struggle a little on some of the more recent VR devices. It would certainly be enough for something like a Rift, but some of the more heavy duty recent ones will require something from the 20xx series. At that point it becomes a decision ...
