Bah - deleted that account and meant to leave the post up for giggles, but it got removed. Others will simply have to wonder...

Re: Candidate Introduction

Hello there!

Random fact of the day - "gravel rash" was coined by Kipling in his novel Kim at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries.

I'll send you a pm with Teamspeak details and we can sort out the rest later.

I don't do WhatsApp, Tom - can I not check on the forums? d/l'ing the skins now. SRS installed.
Others also don't do WhatsSapp and there won't be anything important on there that isn't primarily in the forum.

Re: Sgt Mors leaves Sutton Bridge

@Bigbyte he’ll need a code.

He’s also away this Sunday (LMF I reckon) so you may not see him until the first Mossie op.

@MorsKochanski check the Lounge as there’s a WhatsApp group and sort out skins and SRS etc.

Re: SRS

Check the input/output settings to ensure it is through your headset.

Personally I do not start SRS until I’m sitting in the cockpit.

Re: Potential New Recruit

That is a shame. We do have some US-based pilots for whom it does work out but it's really down to individual circumstances.

Re: Potential New Recruit

That sounds perfect except for the stas bit - they're very important to the 601 crowd.

See this thread here:

for the application process and we'll soon have you in the air.

Re: DCS Training resources

Thanks Fritz - if you could post it here it'd be great. As it is there are 42 steps that I'm rapidly whittling down. It's a game/sim so some stuff will j ust work, and rewinding the warning tapes may be a thing in real life, but not for me.

Re: For those thinking of starting

@Tigertooo a few already fly DCS and a few including me are trying it. Not on TP nights naturally.

Plane and theatres will always depend on who has what, and arrange not a to get one up will be casual/ad hoc.

Re: For those thinking of starting

For those wondeirng what on earth Fritz is talking about... SOI means Sensor Of Interest, and the senor that is "painting" the target has to be selected so that the missile can lock on to what it is meant to hit. That sensor return is shown on one of the DDIs that make up the MFDs on the CPIF allied...

Re: For those thinking of starting

It's all nonsense: Designation via Undesignate Button The Undesignate button can be used to designate trackfiles whenever the TDC is assigned to the Attack or Az/El format. This is the quickest way of designating trackfiles since the cursor does not have to be moved to them. Note when in the Spotlig...
