Re: Mission building

Thanks, Fritz. Just now I'm not really intending to get too far into DCS mission building as I generally have enough on my plate with the IL-2 side of things. I expect that I'll get more into it later on if we get any sort of regular thing going with enough people to make it worth while, but more as...

Re: Mission building

I'll have a mooch around some public servers later and see whether I can determine how things like this are generally handled.

Re: Mission building

Not for individual units, by the looks of it (unless I'm missing something). That may be a server-side configuration and I haven't played at all with those yet. Besides, that would be all very well for aircraft and suchlike, but still rather unrealistic with regard to intelligence assets such as sat...

Mission building

I have a question for anyone that's been involved in DCS mission building. How do you deal with the issue of modern intelligence methods generally being good enough to show approximately where a group of objects would be, but maybe not precisely because, for example, they are vehicles and can be mov...

Re: Potential New Recruit

Hello. Bunny replied to my post on forums. I was looking for a good squad. Good not reflecting skill level. Good meaning actually active and team players. Stats are very unimportant to me. You can do nothing with them. Enjoyment is what I value. I enjoy flying with a group of like minded people who...

Hornet controls

Found this video by RedKite which shows key mappings for the F/A-18C Hornet in DCS and makes references to the actual switches on the grip and throttle in the Hornet. I suspect that most of us will want our own mappings set up, but if anyone wants to go more authentic, this may assist. https://www.y...

Re: DCS Training resources

I've been setting up a DCS training mission using the free Marianas map. Mission will be hosted on the same machine that I use for hosting TP Ops missions and will be run on the Open Beta version of the DCS DServer. This will only currently be available when I'm around and able to host. This will be...

Re: Hey, Folks

I have also now installed the DCS dedicated server onto the same device that I use to host TP Ops and have slapped together a rather rough and ready mission to test with. Some stuff will still be missing from the mission (such as proper briefing, etc) and it may not all work, but I would be interest...

Re: DCS Training resources

For those that were asking last night...

When entering codes for the Litening laser targeting pod:
the first digit must be a 1
the second digit must be 5, 6, or 7
the third and fourth digits must be between 1 and 8

Re: For those thinking of starting

Gents, would you like to move the questions and stuff to a different thread? The purpose of this one was really to discuss moving to the Open Beta. Thanks :rof_salute

Re: For those thinking of starting

Tom, Probably not much use to you as I've shifted things around from the default throttle/joystick assignments to suit how my mind (such as it is) works, but here is a spreadsheet of my current button and axis assignments on my VKB Gladiator Joystick and Virpil Mongoos throttle. May not stay exactly...
