Anyone got a spare graphics card?

Post by Tom » Wed Dec 13, 2017 9:49 am

I need to borrow a spare graphics card for a while whilst I put my new machine together - just for wiping the old drives once the new beast is up and running. The card doesn't need to be super and pretty much anything will do.

I'll happily pay postage etc.

If you had asked a few weeks ago I could have accommodated you there. Unfortunately I promised my nephew that I would pass my old one on to him over the Christmas period. Sorry.

Is there not a graphics output native to the Mobo on the old machine? Another option is possibly to attach the old drives via an adaptor or caddy once the new machine is up and running and wipe them like that. Something similar to what I have linked below is always a handy thing to have around anyway.

All drives are already backed up externally. Mobo or CPU onboard graphics won't cut it for what I want to do.

I wasn't talking about backing up, I was meaning that you could take the drives that you want to wipe and attach them externally to do so. Maybe I misunderstood.
