TP promo video

Chaps,

I've been thinking of creating a short video depicting TP flying activities of past months that aside from pure entertainment could potentially serve as a promo video for our squadron. However, so far I have no material recorded as my computer is not powerful enough to allow flying and recording at the same time.
Therefore (provided the flight tracks are still sendable like those old .ntrk files in Il-2 1946), I'd like to ask you for your flight records from any last campaign (SOTK, GHL etc.) that I could edit and compile. Eventually, if you have recorded some videos from the missions and have some kind of storage from which I could download them, even better.

Cheers :Thumbup

I made a couple of videos when I wasn’t flying in VR, here’s a link to my favourite

Its a nice idea Andy. I often record the track but would like to know the best way to record sound with it

Great video. Good idea to make a training video. If it's up to Blackjack's standards you can say, OTU #1: 2100, singing audition: 2140.

Nice to hear you choir boys singing together.

Cool stuff Blackjack!
What I have in mind is more cinematic-like compilation of interesting moments, perhaps a sort of trailer, if you like. I shall try to record tonight's training (if I make it in the evening) then pick some of the highlights and see how it will work out.

Andy,

For your info & entertainment, here's a promo video put together by Tiger back in 2007 using IL2.
Might give you some ideas for your film.

(ignore the comment about wrong Spits - we didn't have mark 1 spits or a BoB map in those days)

That's exactly one of the things that made me thinking about new video! I stumbled upon this gem of Tiger's earlier and liked the concept. With today's graphics and editing tools such vid could be very nice.

Dutch, thanks for posting Tiger's film. I love the period intro screens to set the mood of a 1940's movie. With today's graphics and the general humor of this crew I bet you'd make a great series of films.

You might end up with lots of new recruit and an expanded rosters. Can you imagine missions with two full fighter squadrons of 12 each covering 24 bombers? How many enemy fighters would bounce us? Thirty? :Cool

well, and obviously this exists :D

just shows how great 1946 was, you could do literally everything in that game
(nothing important was said, so no worries that you dont understand )

If a short film was made from each campaign it'd be great. Imagine the variety. I just saw the last quarter of the Goth's Head Line but saw night patrol in 110's, various weather, various light conditions, beginning under naval gunfire attack, night landings at alternate field, lots of dogfights, airport strikes, ground attacks, flak action and suppression.

A film for each campaign would be grand.

Oooooohyes I forgot that there were vehicles. TP had a friday fun mission where we crewed up and shot at each other in the dark. I used to like the Air racing as well they were i16s dropped from the TB mothership.

My first TP day was flying AF1 and then joining the crew for an I16 obstacle course. After a wildly amusing series of abortive starts (read "multi-plane crash on takeoff, respawn, several crash on takeoff, respawn again, rinse, repeat") we soared like a swarm of bees of angry birds or whatever. I remember someone making a beautiful, graceful pirouette around an obstacle and they were promptly rewarded by someone behind them blasting them out of the sky (or was it flak, or was it a buddy saying, "nasty flak"?).

T'was a hoot. I impressed myself with my maneuvering skill but a low bridge wasn't impressed a bit (unless you count the chip I took from it).

Great fun. Almost makes me want an I-16 campaign.

Almost.

I don't like being cold. Moscow. December, 1941, open cockpit.
