Starshina Noris arrives at Kalach

Post by Tom »

All,

Noris successfully completed AF1 last night, with some quite funky formation flying (think funky as in uncontrolled drug and alcohol fueled disco dance moves and you get the picture). By the end though it was a cool. Baby. He even managed a very nice landing.

Congratulations Noris, feel free to partake of all forum and Tangmere related activties from now on. The only thing restricted is Sunday ops that you can only take part in after your fourth assessment flight.

To everyone else, please make Noris welcome in the time honoured Tangmere.... No, maybe not. Make him welcome in a normal and non-depraved way. Watch out though as he's from north-west Germany and they're a wild bunch up there.

Oh, Noris somehow managed to get the Russian starter pack of the game so he currently has the 109, LaGG and IL2. he is working through the unlocks to get al of the planes. So, for Noris, here is a short breakdown of what is available and what most of us have got:

IL2 Battle of Stalingrad standard version:

LaGG-3 - Yak 1 - IL2 AM-38 - Pe-2
BF109F-4 - BF109G-2 - JU87D-3 - He111

The premium version includes the La5 and FW190A-3 but these can be bought separately

Battle of Moscow standard version:

I16 - Mig 3 - IL2 AM-38 (1941 version) - Pe2 - series 35
BF109E-7 - BF109F-2 - BF110E-2 - JU88A-4

The premium version includes the P40E-1 and MC202 but these can be bought separately.

I'm pretty sure that most of us have all aircraft and collector aircraft from BOS and BOM, with perhaps a few exceptions being those pilots who are not currently active. Most of us are regretting having the P40.

Battle of Kuban is due for official release December 2017 or something like that. Those that pre-order will probably have the beta version of the BF109G-4 from December this year.
In selecting the motto... 'all for one and one for all'... I have done so because it expresses what should be the creed to every Fighter Pilot. Never forget that you are an essential cog in the wheel, and if you break or fail it will let down your brother pilots, and the grimness of war allows for no such weakness.

Well done Noris, welcome to the Sergeant's Mess. Mine's a pint of bitter please :thumbup

I believe that the Collector's Edition planes are purchasable independent of which game version you own (I may or may not be correct in this), so if you wished to (and needed to prove insanity for an upcoming criminal trial) you could probably order the P-40 once you feel confident in handling the Lagg-3.

Welcome Noris. I know how stressful getting in to proper multiplayer flying can be but it is very rewarding. Good luck with the assessment flights.

Could be worse.... he might have been a Belgian!

No seriously, welcome to TP. Given how long we have been going we must be doing something right.

Hello everyone!

thank you all for this really nice welcome!
I really had a great start with you and I am enjoying it. Thanks Tom for the patience and your guidance, thank you silk for the help and the time setting up my controls. There is really no better way to be greeted, thank you all for your kindness (-:.

And yeah I'm from Germany and I live somewhat near to cologne. Glad I'm not the only one.

There is much to learn but I feel optimistic and willing. Even now, with my drunken formation disco moves (it was really hard :-D) it is hell of a fun with you.

I am planning to have, as soon as I finished my last assessment flight, all the necessary planes purchased / unlocked. I wasn't aware of this starter edition thing when I purchased the game.

Thanks a lot folks and hopefully see you tomorrow evening!
