Hi Elric,

I have received your Pilot Application - but have not processed it yet as it is best tow ait for your response to Tom's comment above. As he says our official weekly operation is on Sunday evening 9pm GMT - so if that will not be something you can attend, Tangmere Pilots may not be the best home for you sadly :Sad

We will see!

Reggie, forward the application then we'll let Merlin sort him out.

Muy bien, amigo.

If I ever speak Spanish with you expect every third word to be in French. I mix the languages now that I spend much of the year there.

Enjoy the OTU's. Relax and have fun. The Tuesday and Friday practice days are a lot of fun but the Sunday missions are spectacular. Lots of clever twists. I don't know how they come up with new stuff week after week but it's always fresh and challenging.

Don't bother putting your name on stuff in the fridge. It'll just give someone perverse enjoyment to nick your lunch. Just label your ham sandwich container "Organic seaweed salad" or "goat yogurt" or some such and no one will touch it.

Hello Tangmere,
The last I flew online with IL2 I was using an old beat up machine with Windows XP. Back then it was TeamSpeak and HyperLobby. As I'm now supposed to be Retired it's time to get with it again. Of course am now Windows 10 and with a fairly decent setup, only I'm not sure exactly how to go about getting things up and running again. Am residing in the U.S. (Texas) so the time change might be somewhat of an issue, but I can work that out and if you've got a spot open I'd like to give it a go. Training is no problem, I'd expect as much.

Looking forward to challenge,

Chako

Hi Chako,

I'm retired near St. Louis. The timing makes for mid-afternoon flights at 3 pm with daylight savings. Quite convenient hours. The training fellows will square you away with information. They're very helpful. Your previous experience will be of great help to you and you'll be amazed at how IL2 progressed.

See you in the air.

Thanks for the welcome, looks like timing won't be any problem. In reading the posts in this section a few things have become clear - #1 Shoot Tom down in practice, #2 - keep a lookout for Bunny, #3 - Cold Beer is a staple. Except for #1 it all sound reasonable so far. BTW my callsign isn't exactly associated with British WW2 pilots and I am not attached to it - sure to find something more suitable.
