April 1941 sold to Pilot Officer Best of No.609 (West Riding) Squadron.
June 1941 visited RAF Tangmere with his master for a Inter Squadron Games Competition.
June 1941 Stan is won by the pilots of No.601 Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force after they trounced 609 Squadron in a game of darts.
June 1941 trusted to the care of F/O Stapme of No.601 Squadron based at Tangmere.
June 1941 Nominated as Mascot for No.601 Squadron and assigned the rank of Leading Aircraftman/dog.
August 1941 Stan becomes an ace after disabling Luftwaffe pilot Hauptmann Helmut Von Winkeltosser by biting his leg and so preventing his escape after he bailed out over Tangmere Airfield.
August 1941 Stan is assigned to gate duty by S/Ldr Tom, Commanding Officer of 601 Squadron after several civilian complaints relating to drunken pilots returning from the pub.
August 1941 Stan is given strict instructions not to allow any 601 Squadron personnel on to base without them being able to clearly state the passphrase "Post early for Christmas."
September 1941 Stan is wounded in an unexpected air raid by a lone Ju88 which is susequently destroyed by the airfield Anti Aircraft battery.
November 1941 sees Stan commended by the Squadron for his ongoing efforts in finding and assisting the ground personnel in the search for injured and lost pilots. This action sees Stan Mentioned in Despatches.

Beat the Evil Axis Postman. Stan is currently engaged in a lengthy campaign to find and beat an evil spy that the Axis powers have sent to England. This spy is said to be disguised as a postman and is usually accompanied by a large furry cat.
